Imagine a big red button.
Probably with some sort of plastic lift up cover on it ... the sort that makes it looks REALLY important.
Imagine that buttons only appears in those private moments when you are really REALLY pissed off with the weird twists and turns that life throws at you.
Then imagine that when it appears - everything stands still.
You get a moment.
For just one minute your life stands still and you get absolute clarity on who and what is most important to you in your life.
In that moment of ethical, moral and social clarity you only have one decision to make... Do I hit the button?
If you hit the button the tension, misunderstandings and problems of the past six months are gone. You could erase all the fall outs with people at work. You could undo that stupid fight with your loved one that still desperately regret. You could have chosen not have that extra drink that meant you accidentally spilled out something you weren't supposed to know. You could wipe out that time you were so childish you embarrassed yourself and lost yourself respect... You could reach into the lives of those you've touched and let them see the truth that you always wanted to convey. You could stop feeling sorry for yourself.
But here's the kicker..
This button doest fix just your problems.
It was also fix those things that your friends so desperately wish were different. All the confusion, hurt and darkness that they feel.
All you have to decide is hit that button.
And the catch? You are only allowed to press this button 3 times in your entire life.
Today, not for myself - but for those around me who are hurting, I would have.
